Job overview

Are you a compassionate, open, and excellent audiologist looking to make a significant impact in paediatric audiology?

We are looking for a candidate who, as a minimum, holds an undergraduate degree in audiology and is registered with the AHCS as a healthcare science practitioner in audiology. The ideal candidate will have experience working as an audiologist and demonstrate a commitment to healthcare science as a lifelong learning career. Additionally, the candidate should show eagerness to develop their skills and advance in their career in paediatric audiology.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this role is to provide a range of clinical care working in one or more specialist areas of Paediatric Audiology. The post holder will regularly work across sites and alone at outstations. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining clinical records in relation to the activities carried out. The post holder will also supervise or train less experienced staff and be a point of contact for junior staff regarding routine cases, and provide advice regarding the specialist area(s) they work in. The post holder may also lead a team working in a specialist area.

  • 1:1 or 2:1 BSc (Hons) Audiology or equivalent (Score 3 for MSc, 2 for BSc 1st, 1 other)
  • Membership of BAA and/or BSA
  • Recognised qualification in British Sign Language
Registration
  • Registration with HCPC, or AHCS (score 2 for HCPC registered scientist, 1 for AHCS)
Validation
  • Validation of clinical work (HTS modules, STP equivalence, Peer review, IQIPS)
Experience
  • Post qualification experience (Score 3 Paeds, 2 for adults with 3+ years, 1 for anything a year or less)
  • Previous use of Auditbase and Smart4Hearing
  • Experience of training less experienced staff
  • Demonstrates compassion, openness and excellence (Consult Lead)
