Chubb invites experienced insurance professionals to join its Underwriting Team as Package Underwriter/Senior Underwriter in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on multiline P&C underwriting, growth of the portfolio with brokers and clients, and portfolio development.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewals according to underwriting guidelines, budget and local business plan.
• Represent and promote Chubb to brokers, internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Servicing key producers and clients through proactive external visitation, monitoring acquisition and retention and cross-selling opportunities.
• Assist in formulating and implementing underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management to improve profitability.
• Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility.
• Assist with development of products within specialist areas to improve client retention and new business; collaborate across teams.
• Meet company standards for policy documentation, quoting timelines and compliance issues.
• Manage junior colleagues and provide mentoring, training and coaching to maintain high-quality underwriting team.
• Allocate resources to meet business objectives.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Package Underwriter/Senior Underwriter to form a key part of Chubb's Underwriting Team. The successful candidate will have experience in multiline P&C underwriting and will have responsibility for growth of the Portfolio with key Brokers and Clients, whilst maintaining and developing a portfolio of existing accounts.

This exciting role could suit either an existing Senior Underwriter who is hungry, motivated, inquisitive and in need of a new challenge, or a similarly minded passionate individual currently working at Underwriter level who feels ready for that step up and elevation in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan.
• Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Servicing key producers and clients, through an engaged programme of pro-active external visitation, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities.
• Assist in formulating and implementing underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability.
• Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility.
• Assist with development of products within areas of specialist expertise in order to improve client retention and new business. This may involve collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe as well as globally.
• Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues.
• Manage junior colleagues as well as providing mentoring, training and coaching where appropriate. In so doing, ensuring a high quality underwriting team.
• Allocate resources to meet business objectives.
