Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior P6 Planner to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in UKwith a focus on tunnelling, shaftsand microtunnelling works. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated planning professional with deep expertise in Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain fully integrated construction programmes using Primavera P6, covering all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Resource-load and cost-load programmes accurately, reflecting labour, plant, equipment, and material requirements aligned to the work breakdown structure (WBS).
  • Ensure that cost-loaded programmes align with project budgets, estimates, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Monitor project performance using earned value management techniques, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with commercial and finance teams to support progress valuations, forecasts, and cost reporting.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, develop mitigation programmes, and support claims preparation where delays occur.
  • Interface regularly with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure programme integrity and accuracy.
  • Provide weekly/monthly programme updates, reports, and lookahead schedules to senior management.
  • Operate independently, demonstrating strong initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Primavera P6 Planner on large-scale infrastructure projects; experience in tunnelling or microtunnelling is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain resource- and cost-loaded construction programmes.
  • Strong working knowledge of earned value management (EVM), programme risk analysis, and progress measurement.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance, demonstrating a proactive approach to planning and scheduling challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to interfacing with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Immediate availability or short notice preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with NEC or FIDIC contract forms.
