Job description

We are Innovative!
That’s why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to do things...

We’re looking for an experienced P6 Planner to join our Civils team, supporting the successful delivery of complex projects across our business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced P6 Planner who enjoys being involved throughout the project lifecycle, from developing initial programmes through to supporting delivery teams on site and ensuring successful project completion.

Working closely with Project Managers, delivery teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in developing robust programmes, identifying risks and ensuring works are planned, monitored and delivered effectively.

Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved in...
  • Supporting the PMO team in developing, updating and maintaining accurate programmes and schedules in line with project and contractual requirements.
  • Producing tender programmes that deliver efficient and effective plans aligned with design, specification and scope.
  • Managing programmes throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through construction and handover.
  • Producing and submitting programmes, reports and associated planning information within agreed timescales.
  • Developing change event programmes in accordance with contract requirements, analysing critical and non-critical paths and communicating impacts to delivery teams.
  • Managing subcontractor programmes, providing constructive feedback and supporting improved programme delivery.
  • Producing dashboards, trackers and reporting information to monitor project performance and support internal reporting.
  • Hosting and attending planning meetings to ensure all parties remain informed and aligned.
  • Attending site when required to support delivery and planning teams.
  • Preparing summary programmes, reports and visual outputs to clearly communicate programme logic and progress.
  • Supporting the development of junior members of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensuring programmes are resource and cost loaded in line with business and contractual requirements to support performance tracking and earned value management.
We would love to hear from you if...

You have extensive experience working as a Planner within a civils, construction or infrastructure environment and are confident managing programmes across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

Have a detailed and forward-thinking approach to planning and problem solving, with the ability to identify risks, manage change and develop practical solutions to support successful project delivery.

Highly organised, detail-focused and committed to delivering work right first time, ensuring programmes are accurate, robust and aligned with project protocols and contractual requirements. Along with a strong understanding of construction methodologies, NEC contracts and programme management, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders.

You’ll have extensive experience using Primavera P6, including developing cost and resource-loaded programmes to an advanced level, together with a good working knowledge of MS Project.

A full and valid UK driving licence is essential.

* Please note we are unable to offer sponsorship with this role
