Job summary

Linnaeus Veterinary Limited is seeking a Senior P&O Business Partner to lead people initiatives across the North of England and Scotland. The role combines regional travel with hybrid working, collaborating with hospital leadership to shape workforce strategies and drive people outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring a Bachelor’s in HR (CIPD desirable), at least five years' BP experience, strong employment-law knowledge, and a data-driven mindset to advise leaders and manage complex ER

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related discipline.
  • CIPD qualification desirable.
  • Five years' experience as a People Business Partner or HR Business Partner.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven approach with ability to interpret people metrics and turn insight into action.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operating Unit and hospital leadership to develop and deliver people strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Support workforce planning, talent management, succession planning and leadership development.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, employee relations and people best practice.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary processes, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, restructures and transformation projects.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Payroll and Benefits to deliver an outstanding associate experience.
  • Utilise people data and insights to identify trends, mitigate risks and recommend solutions.
  • Drive associate engagement through listening initiatives, action planning and continuous improvement.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion while embedding the Mars Five Principles.

Roles and responsibilities
  • Partnering with Operating Unit and hospital leadership teams to develop and deliver people strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Supporting organisational change initiatives, restructures and business transformation projects.
  • Working closely with our Centres of Excellence, Legal, Payroll and Benefits teams to deliver an outstanding associate experience.
  • Using people data and insights to identify trends, mitigate risks and recommend solutions.
  • Driving associate engagement through listening initiatives, action planning and continuous improvement.
  • Championing diversity, equity and inclusion while embedding the Mars Five Principles throughout the business.
  • Delivering coaching and training to leaders on people management, compliance and leadership capability.
Experience required
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • A professional HR qualification such as CIPD (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • At least five years' experience in a People Business Partner or HR Business Partner role.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • A data-driven approach with the ability to interpret people metrics and turn insight into action.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
