Role Description
Salary circa £55k - Chelmsford office (hybrid)

As a result of this proposition we're seeking an experienced Property and/or Casualty Senior Underwriter to join us at our Chelmsford office (Hybrid working, 3 days a week in office).

Key responsibilities:

• Acting as a Senior Authority holder focussed on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature
• Providing excellent service to our customers
• Building and developing successful Broker relationships
• Being visible in the local market, thriving on face to face contact with brokers and end customers
• Developing business relationships with key clients
• Achieving agreed financial and operational performance targets
• Collaborating strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery

About You:

• Outstanding technical underwriting skills in commercial property and/or casualty (ideally already at a senior level)
• Proven track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks
• Capable of leveraging data and analytics
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator, with proven experience in handling large cases
• Strong ability to build, develop and maintain broker relationships
• Achievement orientated, able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines with a positive attitude
• A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Confident and engaging communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence others
• ACII qualified or progression towards
• Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
