Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a substantive Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Surgery team. The post welcomes a Senior OT or Band 5 ready to progress to Band 6, to help deliver care across colorectal, vascular, general surgery, gynaecology, urology and plastics.

Qualifications

• Autonomous practitioner with ability to manage complex cases.
• Experience in surgical OT settings or broad surgical rotation is advantageous.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• provide a flexible and comprehensive service to a designated area
• independently carry out specialised assessment and appropriate intervention for patients with complex needs incorporating physical, personal and psychological needs in relation to self-care, leisure and productivity
• assess risks relating to the discharge process to ensure a safe and timely discharge of patients to the most appropriate setting
• provide advice and information to patients/carers including instruction and training regarding use of equipment issued
• carry out day to day supervision of qualified and unqualified staff
