Job summary

Digital Waffle in Gloucestershire, UK is seeking a Senior OT Security Engineer to drive secure solutions across critical infrastructure projects supporting the UK energy network. You will guide engineering and service teams, designing robust architectures and leading security validation activities.

You will work with standards such as IEC 62443/IEC 62351, NAS and NIS2 frameworks, and mentor teams to raise security maturity while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Professional cybersecurity certification in progress or completed (CISSP or IEC 62443 related).
• Experience in OT environments or ICS security.
• Familiarity with IEC 62443 and IEC 62351 standards.
• Understanding of substation automation and protection tech.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and regulatory frameworks like NIS2.

Responsibilities

• Provide cybersecurity guidance to engineering, development and service teams.
• Design and implement secure-by-design architectures for software and hardware.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity models aligned with IEC standards.
• Lead security validation like FAT/SAT documentation and activities.
• Mentor project teams on product and system security throughout lifecycle.
