Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Community Respiratory OT service on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

You will work autonomously within the MDT across community settings, virtual wards and patient homes, with opportunities for service development and CPD. A full UK driving licence and car access are required.

Qualifications

• HCPC Registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience in rehabilitation and community settings is advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously within an MDT.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with complex respiratory conditions.
• Manage an autonomous caseload and evaluate interventions.
• Deliver care across community, virtual wards, and home settings.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to service development.
• Participate in CPD and maintain patient records.
• Support weekend rotas as required.
