Job summary

Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist for the Older Adult Mental Health In-Patient Service at the Crystal Centre, Chelmsford. You will deliver specialist, recovery‑focused OT for older adults with complex mental health needs, within a multidisciplinary team.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate OT interventions, supervise junior staff and contribute to service development, governance and CPD.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions for older adult in-patients.
• Undertake specialist assessments and manage complex clinical cases.
• Develop individualised treatment plans and work with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Liaise with community services, social care to support discharge planning.
• Provide supervision and leadership to junior staff, assistants, and students.
• Contribute to service development, clinical audit and quality improvement.
