Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (Elderly Care) on a fixed-term basis until December 2027 to cover maternity leave. The role involves working across six inpatient elderly care wards, including the Hip Fracture Unit, with opportunities to lead and develop the service.

You will provide specialist therapy for older people, contribute to service development projects and participate in weekly MDT clinics, with potential for leadership

Qualifications

• Post graduate specialist experience and ongoing CPD.
• Understanding of a broad range of Elderly Care conditions.
• Post-graduate training in management of conditions.
• Experience of teaching and presenting to other staff.
• Experience of supervising and developing staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist occupational therapy for older people on six inpatient wards including the Hip Fracture Unit.
• Participate in operational management and clinical leadership with Band 7 Advanced specialist.
• Manage own caseload of patients with complex conditions as autonomous practitioner.
• Contribute to planning and policy development within the Therapy Department.
