Job summary

Atmos Consulting Ltd, part of the Adler & Allan Group, is seeking a Senior Ornithologist to lead ornithological surveys and ecological projects within its Ecology team. The role combines technical leadership with client liaison, reporting and line management responsibilities.

You will mentor junior ecologists, deliver high-quality reports, and support business development across a portfolio of development and environmental projects. CIEEM membership encouraged.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in ornithological surveys and ecological consultancy.
• Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation and ecological impact assessment.
• Experience managing ecological projects and client relationships.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning and delivery of ornithological surveys.
• Prepare and review technical reports, including EIAs and mitigation strategies.
• Manage medium to large ecological projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate clients, landowners and project teams to deliver on time and within budget.
• Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to internal training.
