Areyou a highly skilled and strategic OD professional ready to lead significantcultural and leadership transformation within a leading NHS Trust? Here at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, we arecommitted to exceptional patient care and workforce development. LeedsTeaching Hospitals is seeking an experienced Senior OD Practitioner withproven experience at this level to join our Centre of Excellence on a24-month fixed-term contract. Your crucial role will ensure our ongoing ODdelivery continues seamlessly, enabling one of our current practitioners tobe rapidly dedicated to a wider, exciting OD project.

Asa Senior OD Practitioner, you will play a critical, leadership role inshaping and delivering the Trust's Organisational Development support. Thisisn't just about implementation; it's about leading with clarity, compassion,and a coaching mindset to influence system wide change and foster anenvironment of psychological safety and inclusive leadership

Main duties of the job

StrategicOD Design & Delivery, diagnosing complex organisational challenges anddesigning and leading evidence informed OD interventions (e.g., leadershipprogrammes, high impact team development, strategic change management) thatdrive overarching strategic goals. You will proactively anticipate futureorganisational challenges and design decisive OD responses, leading andgoverning portfolios of OD interventions, not just individual projects.

MeasuringImpact & Governance, developing robust and strategic evaluationframeworks to measure the effectiveness and outcomes of OD activities,linking them directly to Trust-wide goals. This includes actively engagingwith employee voice, establishing feedback loops, and analysing associatedmetrics to inform continuous improvement. You will also contribute tostronger governance oversight of OD interventions.

Asan accredited coach, you will lead impactful 1:1 and group coaching sessions,drawing on your keen understanding of human behaviour and psychology. Byeffectively deploying tools like Insights Discovery, Gest methodology, EQi,Affina OD, and 360 feedback

Managingand leading a team with clear delegation and performance support. You willalso manage OD budgets, contracts, or partnerships, and may supervise a widerteam, fostering their development and performance.

Utilisingproven mediation experience to navigate and resolve complex, high-stakesworkplace conflicts effectively.

You have a proven track record atstrategically managing conflict, coaching senior staff, and buildingresilience across all levels.

InfluentialCollaborator & System Leader: You'll have a highly proven ability toinfluence senior leaders, from Board to Ward, and collaborate effectivelyacross all professional groups (clinical and non-clinical) You naturally workacross boundaries, co-designing solutions and valuing diverse perspectives,demonstrating a strong system leadership mindset. Person Specification
Experience
  • Expert Facilitation, Leading and advising on high impact, complex group discussions, workshops, and team interventions
  • Experience of providing thought leadership within the OD field, actively developing internal OD capability
  • Extensive background in OD strategy, design, and delivery
  • Highly proven ability to influence senior leaders, from Board to Ward, and collaborate effectively across all professional groups
  • Subject matter expert in a range OD methodologies or specialisms
Other Criteria
  • Specialist training in a range of Organisational Development/Change Management techniques examples could include Psychometric tests (MBTI, Belbin, NLP,)
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in relevant subject or equivalent experiential learning in addition to first Degree.
  • Accredited Coaching Qualification
  • Membership of relevant professional body and/or professional management body (e.g. CIPD, CIM, IoD)
