Job summary

CCL Global is seeking an Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (OME) Engineer in Bristol. You will provide expert advice and manage acquisition elements for complex weapons, munitions, and pyrotechnics, applying OME standards and contributing to life-cycle cost considerations.

The role involves leading design reviews, risk assessment, V&V activities, and supporting certification processes such as Def Stan 05-57, while mentoring others and driving professional development within the team.

Qualifications

• Generate technical requirements, defining deliverables and updating documentation for OME systems.
• Apply OME legislation and standards (e.g. Regulation/DSA02) to technical docs.
• Lead design reviews with industry and manage technical risks.

Responsibilities

• Generate technical requirements, defining deliverables and updating other documentation for OME systems.
• Technical Data: compile data and oversee engineering documentation quality.
• Risk: identify hazards and contribute to risk reduction measures.
• Design: lead design to meet customer requirements within time, cost, and performance.
• Stakeholder Management: collaborate with sub-systems to balance requirements and design.
• V&V: lead test, verification, validation, and evaluation for OME.
• Support: manage support and modifications including certification assessment (Def Stan 05-57).
• Assurance: participate in audits and reviews.
• Disposal: manage disposals and decommissioning of OME equipment.
• Technical Discipline: coach and mentor others in OME specialism.
• Personal Development: engage with People Coach and development planning.
