About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Bournemouth or Reading offices.

Bournemouth: with over years of presence on the south coast, we have built significant expertise and long-term relationships locally and beyond.

Reading: a thriving town with exponential growth across many sectors, supporting transformational projects like Station Hill and others, connecting with like-minded businesses and professionals.

We seek candidates with experience in commercial, residential, and mission-critical projects. We are large enough to offer stability and opportunity, small enough to recognize individuals. Driven by our vision, we aim to positively impact the relationship between people and the planet, creating high-performing buildings that address climate change and modern living needs.

As a Senior or Principal Engineer, you will support and deliver designs, manage various project types and sizes, and work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality service, develop new business, and ensure profitability.

In this role, you will:

  • Work on diverse projects in the UK and internationally across key sectors.
  • Design mechanical systems using AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Lead mechanical services design on large projects and oversee small to medium projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their development.
  • Ensure technical quality and compliance.
  • Monitor project budgets and resources.
  • Research innovative working methods and stay competitive.
  • Maintain industry reputation, following quality and risk procedures.

About you

To succeed, you should have:

  • Strong technical knowledge in Mechanical Design and Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience in consultancy, with understanding of acoustics, fire engineering, and modeling.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, lead projects, and meet objectives.
  • Client-facing skills and understanding of client needs.
  • Mentoring and supervising skills.
  • Chartered status (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential; we support professional development.
