About the role

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Bristol office’s Mechanical team. Bristol, a vibrant city with a rich cultural heritage and ambitious growth plans, is our second-largest office, home to over MEP engineers and various specialists.

In this role, you will support and deliver designs for diverse projects, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality services, develop repeat and new business, and ensure profitability.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing client relationships and fostering future opportunities.
2. Promoting Hoare Lea’s services and contributing to bids.
3. Defining project briefs, taking ownership, and delivering profitable schemes.
4. Leading larger projects and coordinating all disciplines as the main client contact.
5. Supporting and developing a high-performing local team.
6. Managing project workloads, delegating, and ensuring quality and technical accuracy.
7. Monitoring project costs and resource requirements.
8. Managing risks and ensuring standards are met.

About you

To succeed, you should have:

1. Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar, with a record of delivering complex projects.
2. Knowledge of mechanical services, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
3. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication skills.
4. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
5. Self-awareness, openness, and a collaborative spirit.
6. Familiarity with British Standards.
7. Consultancy experience, understanding the importance of related disciplines like acoustics and fire engineering.
