Job Description:

Senior or Principal Landscape Architect, salary range £40k to £60k depending on experience.

Can you bring skills, flexibility, creativity, and a team-working ethos to a small, well-regarded landscape design and environmental management practice located in North Wales, 30 minutes from Chester?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior or Principal Landscape Architect to be based in our Ruthin Office, Denbighshire, to support the wider multi-disciplinary team, act as Environmental Coordinator, and lead on landscape elements of infrastructure and other projects. The role is office-based but will involve working away from home on some high-profile and challenging projects.

Richards, Moorehead and Laing Ltd, a multi-disciplinary practice established in 1984, has a wide portfolio of work in infrastructure projects, renewable energy projects, and residential and leisure development. Our team includes Landscape Architects, Environmental Practitioners, and Ecologists.

Candidates are expected to be chartered by a relevant professional institution and have relevant degrees.

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Chartered member of the Landscape Institute
  • A sound understanding of environmental management and mitigation on major infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to achieve the best environmental and sustainable outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organization skills
  • Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence

Welsh language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

RML is a family-owned company, winning many awards since its incorporation, including two Landscape Institute research awards and a Europa Nostra award for historic landscape work in Ireland. Our office is based in Ruthin, Denbighshire, from which we operate UK-wide. We envisage this role being primarily office-based.

Hybrid working is available with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Ruthin is 30 minutes from Chester and about an hour from Liverpool and Manchester. If outdoor activities interest you, Ruthin offers excellent access to Snowdonia and a growing adventure sports scene.
