Job description

Senior Optical Engineer Optical Space Payload Remote 12 months

Competitive contract rate dependent on experience

Optical Engineer with Optical Payload experience required for design and verification contract for space instrument for ESA mission

  • Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Comprehensive Optical Design knowledge for space / satellite applications.
  • Strong Optical design experience with Optic Studio (Zemax) is essential.
  • Design and analysis software knowledge with SolidWorks, Ansys, SigFit, Python preferred.
  • Good working knowledge or understanding of electronics, opto-mechanics and electro-optical device physics.
  • Experience with Optical Payloads (AIV) and Image Processing.
  • Experience with appropriate materials and component selection, preferably within the space domain.
  • Comfortable managing multiple design projects across project Lifecycle.
  • Optical Ground Support Equipment experience would be desirable.
  • BSc in Optics, Physics, Engineering or related field.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project).
