Job summary

Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) on a bank, ad hoc basis with part-time hours. You will lead perioperative care, ensure patient safety and collaborate across the theatre team.

Working within our established hospital, you will uphold governance standards, maintain high perioperative care quality, and support junior staff while adapting to fluctuating surgical activity. This role suits experienced, flexible professionals seeking varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered with HCPC and hold relevant perioperative qualifications.
• Post-registration theatre/operating department experience.
• Commitment to high perioperative standards.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to call out and report safety concerns.
• Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff (in full compliance with all policies and procedures).
• Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health’s Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence‑based guidelines.
• Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion and support them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
• Collaborate with other clinicians within the Hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
• Take charge of a theatre, co‑ordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.
