Senior road freight forwarder
Leeds Full-Time Permanent Salary: Up to 40,000

A well-established and expanding European transport and logistics company, based in Leeds, is seeking a highly organised and commercially aware Senior Road Freight Forwarder to join their international operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a freight forwarding professional looking to step into a senior role with real responsibility and career development potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate deliveries across European destinations
  
• Liaise with round-trip drivers to ensure timely and efficient operations
  
• Source one-way international haulage equipment and negotiate rates with hauliers
  
• Maintain strong communication with overseas partners and agents
  
• Handle customer queries and provide real-time operational updates
  
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for major clients
  
• Accurately input data and generate documentation related to shipments
  
• Prepare and issue spot quotations
  
• Charge out completed files in preparation for invoicing
  
• Manage customs clearance procedures, including export/import declarations, GVMS, and NCTS
  

Experience:

• Proven experience in European road freight forwarding or international logistics
  
• Knowledge of customs procedures and international trade documentation
  
• Familiarity with the import/export market
  
• Confident in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  
• Clear and confident communicator (verbal and written)
  
• Customer-focused with a strong commercial mindset
