Senior Operator - Almac Pharma Services (Loughborough)

CPL have partnered with ALMAC Group to recruit for a Senior Operator to join their team on a temporary, fixed term contract.

·Pay Rate - £15.04 ph + 16.7% shift premium.

·Location – ALMAC, Loughborough

·Benefits – 34 days holiday per annum

·Hours – 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday

·Rotational Shift - Week 1: 06:00 to 14:00 Week 2 - 14:00 to 22:00

OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE:

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and running pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including dispensing, blending, granulation, compression, coating, encapsulation, and packaging. You will be expected to complete manufacturing activities unsupervised at times. You will work in close liaison with Formulation Development Scientists and Analytical Support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Process Development and Clinical/Commercial manufacturing activities within the department. Successful candidates may be expected to work changing shift patterns (including night shift), so that the department maintains the flexibility to meet our clients project demands. It is a condition of your employment that you are able to fulfil this requirement of the role. Candidates will undergo a structured training and assessment process before being able to move to the next grade level. A minimum of 12 months training and assessment will be required to progress to the next grade.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead pharmaceutical manufacturing processes such as dispensing, blending, granulation, compression, coating, encapsulation, and packaging.

2. Complete manufacturing documentation and logbooks in line with ALCOA principles to ensure the quality of the product.

3. Clean processing equipment and rooms to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

4. Ensure your training record is up to date, and you are appropriately trained before starting a manufacture. Provide training for other production staff where appropriate.

5. Note and report to authorised supervisor any incidents occurring which could affect the quality of the product being manufactured.

6. Be responsible for compliance with the relevant H&S requirements.

7. Liaise with other departments (e.g., Formulation Development, Analytical Support and Engineering) to ensure efficient running of production operations.

8. Undertake any other duties as directed by authorised personnel.

ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS

GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics, English Language and Science at Grade C or above

Proven experience of working well within teams.

Good communication skills (both written and oral)

Ability to complete documentation to a high standard.

Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment.

DESIREABLE REQUIRMENTS

Experience in set up, operation and clean down of process equipment. Involved in blending, compression/encapsulation and coating processes.

Significant experience in a manufacturing environment within the pharmaceutical industry.
