A leading food & drink wholesaler in the UK is seeking a Senior Operations role to oversee daily warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse logistics, strong knowledge of health and safety, and leadership skills to manage a team effectively. Reporting into Warehouse Shift Manager
Managing and supporting daily warehouse operations
Managing and completing KPI’s
Supporting and overseeing Health and Safety operations ensuring that the workplace is a safe environment at all times
Supervise and manage direct reports 40 hours per week Any 5 days over 7 – permanent days
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Shift Manager, the Senior Operations role plays a vital part in leading and delivering efficient, safe, and effective warehouse operations. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience, leadership capability, and a strong understanding of operational KPIs and health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support daily warehouse operations to meet service, safety, and quality standards
- Track, report, and complete key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve productivity
- Champion and manage Health & Safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
- Supervise and mentor a team of direct reports, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture
- Work closely with the Warehouse Shift Manager and other stakeholders to support departmental goals
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and implementation
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly across a 7-day operational schedule
- Experience managing performance against KPIs
