We’re a fast-growing group of businesses under one roof, united by a clear mission: to unlock the power of marketing for start-ups. Up Collective is the umbrella company that sits behind Up World, Up Talent and Brand Hackers.

Whether it’s helping a grad grow into a confident marketer, supporting a founder making their first key marketing hire, or enabling a brand to scale its reach, we exist to make marketing the growth engine it should be.

We're scaling quickly and with purpose. Currently, we’re delivering +50% year on year growth and our processes are straining to keep up! We are bringing in a Senior Operations Manager to set up up for scale.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Operations Manager to build rock-solid internal foundations and lead key processes across people, finance and day-to-day operations.

This role is about making sure the business runs smoothly behind the scenes: keeping the team empowered and aligned, our finances sharp, and our systems simple and scalable.

You’ll report directly to the Chief of Staff and play a central role in making the company stronger, faster and smarter as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment processes from job spec to onboarding, ensuring an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience

  • Own and improve onboarding and offboarding processes that drive clarity, efficiency and cultural consistency

  • Maintain and evolve performance review cycles, objective-setting frameworks

  • Work closely with leadership to build a healthy, high-performance culture

Finance & Commercial Operations
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations in partnership with our bookkeeper and accountant (e.g. invoicing, expenses, contractor payments)

  • Lead internal budget management, forecasting and cashflow tracking

  • Ensure client contracts, scopes and pricing models are clearly documented and aligned with commercial goals

  • Monitor project profitability and operational KPIs to support business decisions

  • Work closely with the Brand Hackers Operations team to build new financial processes

Strategic Operations & Leadership
  • Translate strategic plans into operational priorities and internal actions

  • Lead set up and deliver of OKRs across the business

  • Ensure compliance and data protection obligations are met and well documented

Process & Tools
  • Lead implementation and team adoption of tools and systems that help us scale, from Slack workflows to integration of AI

About You

You may have been called an Operations Lead, Finance Manager, Finance Lead, Head of Ops, People & Ops Manager in a previous role. Titles aside, you're someone who brings structure to growth.

  • You’ve worked in startup or agency environments

  • You’re a strategic thinker and pragmatic doer, equally happy planning big projects or fixing small glitches

  • You make things easier, faster, clearer, and you’re always thinking about how to improve

  • You’re proactive, sensitive in your communication, and collaborative by nature

  • You are a Slack native and very used to asynchronous working at pace

  • You think in automations and AI, not as an afterthought but the assumed way

  • You’re confident working independently and prioritising across multiple areas of the business
