Job summary

AWD online is seeking an Operations Manager / Service Manager to lead a London portfolio of supported accommodation, driving quality, safeguarding and operational performance. The role suits an experienced manager from supported housing, homelessness, mental health or social care.

The Operations Manager / Service Manager will develop managers, oversee safeguarding, housing management, risk and resident outcomes, and strengthen consistent practice across services.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or substantial equivalent experience in health/social care or housing.
• Experience leading managers and multidisciplinary teams, with safeguarding adults and risk management.
• Experience working with local authorities, commissioners and external partners.
• Knowledge of supported housing and housing management requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and report-writing skills.
• Competent IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel between services and join the on-call rota.
• Commitment to community, empowerment, respect and compassion.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Lead an allocated portfolio, develop managers and maintain communication across services.
• Monitor KPIs, visits, audits and compliance; report risks and actions.
• Oversee supervision, appraisal, training, staff development and ER.
• Oversee person-centred support, risk management, referrals and housing management.
• Ensure safeguarding systems are applied; manage investigations and escalation.
• Support budgets, staffing, expenditure and resident finances.
• Collaborate with commissioners and partners; maintain records and reporting.
• Oversee health and fire safety, business continuity and on-call cover.
