Job Description:

About You
Are you looking for an opportunity to lead complex metal mine operations while making a real impact on environmental resilience?

Do you bring experience in financial planning, stakeholder engagement, and team development — and enjoy working in a fast-paced, evolving environment?

Are you confident in delivering high-quality results, driving performance, and helping to build a strong, capable team around you?

If this sounds like you, we’d love to tell you more…

You’ll take the lead in managing our metal mine water treatment schemes and diffuse pollution interventions, ensuring they’re delivered effectively through thoughtful programme and financial planning, as well as strong operational oversight.

About The Role

A key part of your role will involve accurate financial forecasting and careful budget management, making sure projects are well planned, resourced, and delivered within the financial year.
As the programme continues to grow, you’ll support and develop the DEFRA Operations Manager and Commissioning Engineer — helping to build a confident, capable team through coaching, guidance, and shared learning.

You’ll also play an important role in maintaining positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, Defra, Natural Resources Wales, and the Welsh Government — ensuring our schemes not only meet but exceed expectations around performance, maintenance, and environmental outcomes.

We don’t expect candidates to meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!
