Job summary

J3A Recruitment, on behalf of a major specialist civil engineering contractor, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead UK-wide project delivery across heavy civils, tunnelling, shaft construction and underground infrastructure. Based in South Yorkshire, you will oversee Project Managers, mobilisation, resourcing and performance across sites.

You will drive health, safety and quality, manage client relationships, develop operational processes, and support business growth.

Qualifications

• Extensive heavy civil engineering experience across multiple projects.
• Proven leadership of project managers and site teams.
• Strong knowledge of tunnelling, shafts and underground construction.
• Excellent resource and operational planning abilities.
• Experience supporting business growth and delivering high standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across multiple UK civil projects.
• Develop and support Project Managers and senior site staff.
• Oversee mobilisation, delivery and handover processes.
• Ensure projects are resourced with labour, plant and management.
• Review programmes, performance and forecasts to drive productivity.
• Maintain high HSEQ performance and risk management.
• Foster strong client and stakeholder relationships.
