Senior Operations Manager Domestic

Your role is vital to the success of our operations, as you take on day-to-day responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of our domestic services. As this is a busy hospital environment open every day 365 days per year, the ability to work some weekends is required.

You will have responsibility for the operational management of the contracted services on the site, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and in line with the contract and statutory obligation. It's a superb opportunity to join Sodexo’s Health and Care division managing a high quality, timely, responsive, cost-effective, and pro-active domestic service to meet the needs of the wards and departments within this well maintained PFI trust.

What you'll do:

1. Drive a performance-based culture to maintain high cleaning standards.
2. Lead operational change projects and drive innovation.
3. Foster improved staff engagement and operational improvements.
4. Oversee the management review process and ensure effective reporting.
5. Build strong relationships with senior client managers and support contract variations.
6. Manage the operational budget, investigating variances and resolving concerns.
7. Ensure compliance with contract and statutory obligations, including health and safety.
8. Oversee staff recruitment, training, and development to align with company policies.

What you bring:

Essential:

1. Comprehensive experience of working in a management role within the Soft FM service industry.
2. Specific technical skills in the field of cleaning.
3. Adaptable, flexible, and resilient.
4. Inclusive style Leadership skills and knowledge.
5. Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team.
6. People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
7. Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
8. Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety.
9. Ability to make independent decisions.
10. Able to work on own initiative within a team environment.
11. Demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
12. Good attention to detail and adherence to standards.
13. Able to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions.
14. Proven experience of managing client relationships.
15. Proven ability to develop new business opportunities.
16. Qualifications in HSWA, IOSH, food safety and COSHH.

Desirable:

1. Analytical skills: able to understand complex performance issues and advise and able to prioritise action plans to resolve.
2. Experience of working within PFI environment.
3. Experience of working with Healthcare.
4. Understanding of 2025 National Cleaning Standards.
