Job Purpose

CCS is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager Retrofit to lead and oversee the nationwide retrofit delivery programme, currently spanning four regions, with plans for expansion.

This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, ensuring seamless client relationships, and maintaining financial and programme delivery while upholding our commitment to first-class service. Reporting directly to the Head of Retrofit, you will manage Operations Managers, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure compliance with CCSs quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Strategy

Oversee and manage retrofit operations across multiple regions, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Lead, coach, and develop Operations Managers to deliver projects in compliance with CCS standards and processes.

Ensure optimal resource allocation and maintain high service delivery standards.

Drive operational excellence by implementing continuous improvements and refining service workflows.

Maintain alignment between commercial and operational teams, ensuring efficiency and shared goals

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary point of contact for escalated client matters, ensuring strong client relationships and high customer satisfaction.

Lead client briefings, progress meetings, and contract updates, ensuring transparent communication.

Work with senior leadership to enhance customer engagement strategies and deliver a first-class service experience.

Financial & Compliance Oversight

Take full ownership of financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.

Ensure all contracts comply with CCS quality standards, regulatory requirements, and delivery expectations.

Collaborate with finance teams to track expenditures, revenue, and efficiency metrics.

Oversee P&L management within the operations function to drive financial sustainability.

Process Management & Performance Monitoring

Oversee and improve end-to-end operational workflows to streamline project delivery.

Ensure Operations Managers have access to up-to-date procedural documentation and guidance manuals.

Implement and refine client reporting structures, WIP tracking, and IT system integrations.

Ensure staff accountability and adherence to CCS performance metrics.

Compliance & Training

Maintain compliance with industry standards, CCS policies, and contractual requirements.

Audit processes regularly, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.

Drive team training and professional development, ensuring all staff receive ongoing coaching and upskilling opportunities.

Team Management & Culture

Manage recruitment, appraisals, and performance management, fostering a high-performing team culture.

Develop structured training plans to mentor and upskill employees.

Ensure effective collaboration between internal departments, including HR, compliance, and finance.

Promote a culture of responsibility, continuous learning, and innovation.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven competence in operational leadership, customer service, and business process management.

Formal Operational Business Management Training/Qualification.

Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Familiarity with SORS, social housing compliance, and process management.

Ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teams.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong strategic planning and decision-making capabilities.

Experience Required

Willingness to pursue further operational business management qualifications.

Minimum 5 Years Experience As An Operations Lead.

Extensive experience in construction, refurbishment, or the built environment.

Proven experience in delivering large-scale projects within the social housing sector.

Strong background in financial accountability, contract management, and process efficiency.

Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and drive performance improvements.

Track record of enhancing customer experience and service delivery.
