JOB TITLE: Senior Operations Manager

START DATE: ASAP

JOB TYPE: Full-time (Including weekend work)

SALARY: £30k – 40k (Depending on experience)

BASED: Loughborough (Travel is involved for events)

TYPE OF WORK: Events/Office-based/Remote working/Logistical

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 2+ years event experience at managerial level

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated, and hard-working individual to join the Operations Team at RunThrough. We strive for excellence and enjoy what we do. We are committed to staff development and helping our team reach their potential.

We are looking for a candidate to manage and support the delivery of professional mass-participation running events. Responsibilities include venue management, course design, and maintaining high standards in event preparation and delivery.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and develop relationships with venues, councils, traffic management contractors, etc.
  2. Create and update event management plans and risk assessments.
  3. Complete relevant event applications, e.g., road closure applications.
  4. Lead the course team on event days, ensuring proper setup and pack-down; act as lead cyclist where appropriate.
  5. Support the event team with course designs, marshal maps, and inquiries.
  6. Line management of a small team.
Essential Skills and Requirements
  • Passionate about physical activity and running.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • Full driving license.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely during the week.
  • Willing to work weekends, with early start and finish times.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the UK running industry.
Desirable Attributes
  • Experience managing relationships with venues, councils, or clients.
  • Coaching and volunteer experience.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
