Job Description
At Santander, we are seeking a Public Cloud Senior Operations Engineer (SRE) to lead improvements in our Public AWS Infrastructure, ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of our digital services. The role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders, monitoring the health of cloud environments, and responding to incidents.
The difference you’ll make:
- Identify, plan, and implement solutions to enhance the reliability and resilience of the cloud environment through automation.
- Provide high-level advice on technical solutions and infrastructure priorities.
- Focus on daily operations, new service delivery, and capacity planning to meet organizational needs.
- Ensure full-service delivery and support capacity planning.
- Resolve complex technical issues and provide senior technical solutions.
- Analyze system specifications to meet organizational needs.
What you’ll bring:
- Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, EKS, VPC, IAM, ALB, etc.) and tools like Terraform, Kubernetes.
- Proven engineering experience managing site reliability innovations.
- Knowledge of IT incident management, troubleshooting, and recovery.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Skills in change control and incident management.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder collaboration experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of API orchestration and scripting languages like Python.
- Experience in software development or system administration focusing on reliability and scalability.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies.
Additional Information:
We support flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work. The role is based in Milton Keynes, with a requirement for at least days in-office weekly. We welcome applications for part-time or job-share roles.
