Role Summary

The Senior OpEx Coach is an experienced practitioner eager to make a difference and support a team. Working as part of a global OpEx team supporting a customer contact team within EQ Shareholder Services, the role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous improvement to ensure high-quality customer outcomes.

This in-person role based in Birmingham involves supporting teams and management to implement and adopt OpEx tools and techniques, identifying cost savings, eliminating waste, and increasing productivity and resource utilization.

Core Duties/Responsibilities
  • OpEx Training: Promote and support the rollout and implementation of OpEx tools and techniques as part of our service excellence and continuous improvement culture.
  • OpEx Coaching: Guide team leaders and managers on prioritization and problem-solving, facilitate DMAIC workshops, ensure follow-through on action plans, and track improvements to enhance client and customer experience.
  • OpEx Mentoring: Provide 1:1 or small group coaching to develop operational excellence skills, supporting accreditation with the Institute of Leadership.
  • Assist Lead Coaches and the Head of Operational Excellence with collateral development and progress reporting.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
  • Experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives using OpEx methodologies for time and cost savings.
  • Qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Patient, encouraging, empathetic, and able to challenge and motivate leaders to adopt new practices.
  • Professional coaching experience, with a focus on developing management and leadership competencies.
  • Strategic operational insight and resilience to support overcoming challenges.
  • Data analysis skills, proficient in Excel, with experience quantifying benefits like time and cost savings.
  • Desirable skills include presentation and training capabilities for both face-to-face and virtual sessions.
