Join our team as an Overhead Line (OHL) Design Engineer. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive OHL design packages that meet technical industry standards, preparing drawings for GS6 Guidance and Injurious Affection (IA) claims, and compiling technical specifications and computations.
Your role will involve undertaking challenging tasks that require sophisticated procedures, leading to the development of new machinery, technological approaches, and processes. You will lead projects during the FEED stage, producing technical reports and presentations, while ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and all legal requirements related to electrical systems and substations/P&Cs.
- Design of Overhead Lines using PLS-CADD and PLS Tower following BS-EN 50341.
- Creating and reviewing comprehensive drawings for Overhead Line designs.
- Generating reports and drawings for GS6 Guidance and Injurious Affection claims.
- Calculating climatic loads in accordance with BS-EN 50341 and BS 6399.
- Analyzing overhead line structures using PLS-Tower and PLS-Pole.
- Creating structural reports, foundation load analyses, and foundation designs.
- Producing technical papers, specifications, and design concepts.
- Experience in OHL design with a BEng or BSc in civil or structural engineering; chartered engineer or pursuing chartership is preferred.
- Familiarity with OHL engineering environments.
- Proficiency with drafting tools or CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Experience with PLS CADD & Tower software.
