Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Offshore Installation Manager to oversee and optimise offshore installation and logistics activities for a leading renewable energy project. The role focuses on managing installation contractors, ensuring high-quality execution, and maintaining safety, schedule, and cost controls throughout the offshore installation campaign.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse, recommend, and optimise offshore installation strategies, logistics concepts, and procedures both pre-installation and during execution.
Tender, negotiate, and recommend offshore installation contracts (including Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) contracts) in collaboration with the Package and Contract Managers.
Manage and coordinate offshore installation contractors and MWS, ensuring effective cross-disciplinary cooperation within the project team.
Review and approve contractors' method statements, risk assessments, and ensure alignment with project standards.
Set up and facilitate HAZID/HAZOP workshops for installation design and offshore operations.
Deliver regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting technical risks and developing contingency measures.
Supervise trialing, tool development, vessel mobilisation, loading operations, and offshore campaign initiation.
Manage Client’s Representatives offshore, ensuring consistent QA/QC via daily progress reporting.
Lead execution of Design Quality Assurance and Reporting (QAS), ensuring supplier quality alignment.
Manage and resolve Product Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Review supplier-provided method statements and technical documentation.
Oversee as-built documentation review during the Asset Project (AP) execution phase.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Offshore Installation Manager (OIM), preferably in offshore renewable energy (wind sector experience highly advantageous).
Expertise in:
Landfall operations.
Offshore array cable installation (including load-out, laying, pulling, and protection systems).
Management of offshore installation contractors and Marine Warranty Surveyors.
Reviewing and ensuring quality of offshore installation documentation and reporting.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of offshore installation methodologies.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Familiarity with HAZID/HAZOP processes and risk management in offshore environments.
Effective communicator with experience delivering technical reports and updates to senior stakeholders.
High commitment to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and practices.
