Senior Occupational Therapist - TLCO Community Rehabilitation Team

The post holder will join the Community Rehabilitation Team which is a well-established team with extensive skills and knowledge. It comprises of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Patient support workers providing targeted rehabilitation programmes, for patients within their place of residence or as an outpatient within our dedicated clinical locations. Referrals are received for patients with a range of conditions affecting their functional ability. We have two teams; our North team based in Old Trafford and our South team based in Altrincham.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience in managing a complex caseload who would like to further develop their specialist clinical skills and experience in a community setting, with additional opportunities to be involved in service development, supervising students and band 5's, and training within an integrated team. You are required to have advanced assessment and treatment skills, be able to manage a complex caseload autonomously and be a key member in the MDT. You need to have experience in all aspects of rehabilitation with adults, including falls, orthopaedics, general medicine and equipment provision including hoists and seating.You must have access to a car and a UK driving license .

Main duties of the job

To carry a caseload appropriate to role in line with banding and professional expertise.

To interpret and undertake advanced clinical reasoning to analyse detailed / complex clinical and non-clinical information provided, to make a justifiable assessment, contribute to the diagnosis and prognosis of a patient and to recommend the best course of Occupational Therapy intervention.

To utilise specific Occupational Therapy skills as required facilitating and optimising the treatment of patients
