Senior Occupational Therapist - Runnymede

Starting salary: £47,884 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. Although advertised as a full-time position, part-time applications are welcome. Location: Weybridge Community Hub at Weybridge Library, Weybridge, Surrey.

Overview

Join the Runnymede Locality Team to provide statutory social work services to adults in the community. You will conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload, working closely with families, carers and care workers to support people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of needs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct holistic assessments of social care needs and planning support across a dedicated caseload.
  • Work closely with families, carers and care workers to support people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of needs.
  • Assess for major adaptations, specialised equipment and complete moving and handling risk assessments.
  • Provide regular supervision to staff every month, with informal support from the wider team.
  • Utilise the SWOT approach and Five Steps programme as part of Surrey County Council’s Occupational Therapy practice.

The Runnymede Locality Team is a close-knit, supportive and friendly group dedicated to professional development through the Surrey County Council training offer, mentorship, and career advancement. The team delivers a statutory social work service to the community of Runnymede and aims to improve the quality of life for those they support.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in a social care, health or community-focused multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Ability to complete person-centred and proportionate OT assessments.
  • Familiarity with moving and handling equipment (e.g., hoists and stand aids).
  • Knowledge of medical conditions and their impact on the individual, carer and family.
  • Knowledge of current legislation including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice in a social care setting.
  • Experience providing professional supervision and working on complex cases.
  • Valid driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel across a wide geographical area.
