Rotational Occupational Therapist Newham
Due to the promotion of one of our therapists, we have an opportunity to join our popular Band 6 rotation within Newham! This rotation offers experience across a range of services, including Acute inpatient mental health (triage and treatment wards), Community adult mental health services, Home treatment team (HTT), Diagnostic memory services, Older Adult community team, and potentially Dementia inpatient services. Rotations last 9 months.
Rotations may be expanded or modified to meet community needs, the development of our therapists, and service requirements.
We prioritize the development of our Occupational Therapists by providing peer and professional supervision, monthly educational sessions, CPD activities, quality improvement training, and early leadership development. This role involves being part of the Senior Occupational Therapy rotation, delivering meaningful OT input across Adult and Older Adult Mental Health services in Newham.
As a rotational therapist, your specific job plan, skills, and knowledge will depend on your rotation. However, there is a consistent focus on supporting service users' recovery and social inclusion goals through individual and group work. Understanding what matters most to the individual is central. You will develop sound clinical reasoning using various models, theories, lived experiences, and specialist skills, drawing on your dual training in physical and mental health.
