About Us: At Brain kind Neurological Care Centre Lancashire (NCCL), we offer a dual service providing a therapy-led level 2 specialist neurorehabilitation service and specialized neurological care to residents with various neurological conditions. We promote a holistic environment with a wide staff skill set to optimize clients' health, wellbeing, independence, and emotional needs. Transitioned from Sue Ryder in November 2023, we now operate as Brain kind, formerly The Disabilities Trust, offering opportunities for development and research within our services. Our interdisciplinary team includes registered nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Neuropsychologists, and more, with weekly input from our Neuro Rehabilitation Consultant. We also offer Neuro Music Therapy, onsite activities, hydrotherapy, and emerging technologies like VR. Our new facility supports group work and innovative practices.
About the Role: The Senior Occupational Therapist will work within our neurorehabilitation unit, conducting holistic assessments and treatments for complex neurological patients. Responsibilities include setting SMART goals, supporting discharge planning, conducting community visits, maintaining records, applying evidence-based practices, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. You will assess and develop individualized rehabilitation plans, utilize clinical reasoning, and stay updated with emerging technologies.
About you: You should hold a degree in Occupational Therapy, be HCPC registered, have postgraduate CPD, and substantial experience in rehabilitation, especially neurological settings. You should demonstrate expertise in evidence-based practice, clinical assessments, and work autonomously at band 6 level or above, with risk management skills.
