Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Occupational Therapists to join our proactive Acute Discharge Services team based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. We take a home-first approach and work closely with the MDT to support discharge from hospital at the earliest opportunity.

The post offers opportunities to develop in your clinical specialist area, with involvement in leadership, quality improvement, audits and research.

Qualifications

• Motivated and enthusiastic; engage in service developments and audits.
• Use evidence-based practice to enhance patient care.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support discharge.

Responsibilities

• Manage own clinical practice with supervision where appropriate.
• Delegate tasks to Occupational Therapy Technical Instructors and support workers.
• Support students on clinical placements.
• Adhere to RCOT Code of Ethics and professional conduct.
• Contribute to seamless therapy pathways across trusts and local area.
