CSH Surrey seeks an Occupational Therapist (Band 6) for the Inpatient Rehab unit at Woking Community Hospital. You will contribute to multidisciplinary care, focusing on elderly rehabilitation, ensuring safe discharge planning and patient-centred outcomes.

Applicants must be UK-registered, with NHS experience preferred. Salary ranges £41,957–£50,387, with the 5% HCAS and NHS terms. Interviews are scheduled 4–10 November 2026.

Competenze

• BSc/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registered.

Job summary

Do you have an interest in gaining experience in a fast pace rehabilitation environment? Do you care about the experience of the older person in hospital, and want to ensure that individuals are treated with care, dignity and respect? If so, then consider applying for a post within our services. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapists to work in our inpatient rehab unit (at Woking Community Hospital). Our Inpatient services work on the Complex Elderly Rehabilitation Alexandra Ward offering patient-centred care, working with individuals, and their families/carers, to help optimise function and well-being as part of preparation for a safe discharge. The service is based around a multi-disciplinary team model, working with Physiotherapists, Nurses, Adult Social Care and doctors, also liaising with other community services. Please note that Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must possess valid UK right-to-work documentation. Interviews will be held between 4th to 10th November 2026.

Main duties of the job

• Knowledge and experience of working within the NHS or equivalent healthcare system
• Knowledge of a wide range of client groups including any of the following: inpatient & community rehabilitation, care of the elderly, neurology, medical, oncology and orthopaedics
• Ability to carry out complex case management, specialist assessments and risk assessment
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise caseload
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Flexible approach to work with the ability to potentially work across a seven-day service.
• Ability to work both independently and also as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with acute and community services.
• Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and a commitment to providing high quality, safe and effective care that meets the needs of patients.
• Car driver and owner with appropriate license to drive in the UK for business purposes.

Essential experience

• Post qualification experience in a variety of rotations or settings including NHS in-patient work
• Clinical experience with a wide range of client groups including any of the following: rehabilitation, hospital, community, elderly, neurology, orthopaedics, medicine
• Experience of working with Therapy Assistants/Technical Instructors
• Experience of lone working and decision making
• Ability to balance management and clinical work
• Knowledge of audit and its use to improve interventions
• Use of clinical outcome measures and awareness of relevant ones for speciality
