Job summary

Priory Hospital Newbury, Berkshire is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team. This full-time role (37.5 hours) offers a salary of £38,983–£46,882 depending on experience and provides an excellent opportunity to lead clinical practice and contribute to high-quality patient care.

You will deliver specialist OT assessments and interventions, develop and review person-centred treatment plans to promote independence and meaningful recovery, work with the multidisciplinary team,

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and OT qualification required.
• Experience working in mental health settings.
• Experience supervising OT/OTAs and students.
• Training in MoHO, VdTMoCA and Sensory Integration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
• Develop, implement and review person-centred treatment plans that promote independence, daily functioning and meaningful recovery goals.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical assessments, care planning, risk management and decision-making.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and supervision to junior occupational therapists, students and the wider therapy team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure practice meets professional standards, Priory policies and best practice guidelines.

We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team

Priory Hospital Newbury, Berkshire is a level 2 rehabilitation service supporting adult males with mental health needs, working towards community reintegration. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes nearby, including services to Reading and Basingstoke, and nearby train stations providing links into London.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients rebuild their independence, develop essential life skills and achieve meaningful progress. Combining clinical expertise with leadership, you’ll deliver personalised therapy while supporting your team to provide outstanding, person-centred care.

You will also:

Essential for the role

Candidates must be HCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or a degree, honours degree, or Master’s in Occupational Therapy, or have completed formal postgraduate study (award or non-award bearing).

You must also have prior experience working in mental health services as a qualified member of staff, experience supervising Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, and training in relevant models of practice such as MoHO, VdTMoCA, and Sensory Integration.
