Job description

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, forward thinking Occupational Therapist to work as a key member of the inpatient therapy team at Newark Hospital.

This is an exciting 9 months fixed term/secondment opportunity, covering existing post holders maternity leave.

Working alongside specialist dedicated clinicians to provide high quality care for inpatients with a diverse profile of need and conditions, through seamless multidisciplinary/multiagency working.

This would be a great opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to gain experience in a senior role.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a passion for person centred care and rehabilitation with sound clinical experience and high level of skill in order to effectively assess, treat and facilitate discharge of patients with often complex needs.

You will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary working team.

  • Evidence of contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, assistants and students
Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Sound Clinical knowledge of core conditions and applied therapy techniques

Qualifications Academic/Craft/Professional

  • BSc (Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Membership of relevant Professional Body
  • Evidence of experience in the form of an up to date professional development portfolio
Further Training

Essential

  • Attendance at relevant clinical post graduate courses taught often at modular Masters level and relevant to all core specialities
  • Practice Placement Educators training / clinical supervisors training
