An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Male Rehabilitation Forensic Inpatient Mental Health Service for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and innovative Occupational Therapy and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. The post will be based on Ward 3 at the Newsam Centre. The Newsam Centre has a wealth of resources, including a range of therapy rooms, to support the work of the Occupational Therapy Team. The post is advertised for 37.5 full time hours per week.

The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment and support discharge planning. LYPFT utilises the Model of Human Occupation framework to inform the overall assessment and formulate recovery plans for those within the service. Effective MDT clinical leadership drives the service and aspires to equip clinicians with a versatile and comprehensive skillset in order to provide compassionate and therapeutic care. The role of occupation is recognised and valued on the ward. The assessments and interventions provided by Occupational Therapists are an important part of this therapeutic offer, provided both individually and in groups. You will bring your knowledge, skills and experience to effectively plan and support effective transfers to the community. Successful candidates will be offered structured supervision, appraisal and opportunities for professional development within the workplace.
The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country.
