Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Goddards Green, West Sussex. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a salary up to £46,882 per annum, depending on experience.

The role focuses on delivering specialised OT assessments and interventions, developing person-centred treatment plans, and leading a therapy team within an acute psychiatric setting for adult males. Full HCPC registration and OT qualifications are essential.

• Diploma in Occupational Therapy or degree in OT required.
• Prior experience in mental health services as a qualified staff member will be expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to patient needs.
• Develop, implement and review person-centred treatment plans to promote independence.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on assessments, care planning and risk management.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and supervision to junior OTs and OTAs.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure practice meets standards and Priory policies.

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team.

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill, Goddards Green, West Sussex is an acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) service for adult males. The hospital is close to the A23, providing road access to Brighton, Gatwick and the M25. Due to the rural location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you'll play a vital role in helping patients rebuild their independence, develop essential life skills and achieve meaningful progress. Combining clinical expertise with leadership, you'll deliver personalised therapy while supporting your team to provide outstanding, person-centred care.

• Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
• Develop, implement and review person-centred treatment plans that promote independence, daily functioning and meaningful recovery goals.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical assessments, care planning, risk management and decision-making.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and supervision to junior occupational therapists, students and the wider therapy team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure practice meets professional standards, Priory policies and best practice guidelines.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

Candidates must be HCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or a degree, honours degree, or Master's in Occupational Therapy, or have completed formal postgraduate study (award or non-award bearing). They must also have prior experience working in mental health services as a qualified member of staff, and experience supervising Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapy Assistants. Training in relevant models of practice such as MoHO, VdTMoCA, and Sensory Integration is desirable.
