Job summary

Princess Alice Hospice in Esher is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Hospice at Home team. You will deliver holistic occupational therapy, assessing and planning personalised interventions to enable patients to stay in their own homes wherever possible.

The role focuses on physical, cognitive and psychosocial care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team and families. Hours are 30 per week Tue–Fri, with flexible working considered for four days.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic occupational therapy to Hospice at Home patients, planning and delivering personalised interventions.
• Assess and address physical, cognitive, psychological and social needs in patients and carers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to enable care at the patient's preferred place of care.
• Build meaningful relationships with patients and families using advanced communication to support challenging situations.

Job description

Salary £41K – 50K p.a, pro rata, depending on experience. Equivalent to AfC Band 6. Work Pattern 30 hours per week Tuesday to Friday (8:30am – 4:30pm). About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Hospice at Home team, supporting patients in the comfort of their own homes.

In this role, you’ll take a holistic approach, supporting patients’ physical, psychological, social and cognitive needs. Working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver personalised interventions, promoting a rehabilitative and enablement-focused approach to care.

You’ll build meaningful relationships with patients, families and carers, using advanced communication skills to support them through challenging and sensitive situations. Working alongside colleagues and external partners, you’ll help ensure patients are supported to remain in their preferred place of care wherever possible.
