An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Health (OH) Advisor to join our professional and supportive team.

The OH Department is undergoing an exciting period of expansion and provides OH and wellbeing services to our own Trust and selected corporate clients. We are looking for someone who is dynamic and represents all our Trust values to provide OH services to a key OH client.

To act as a Senior OH Nurse, providing a high quality, comprehensive Occupational Health service to a key NHS community Trust clients, in line with the contract agreement.

You will work peripatetically, delivering some services from the client’s key locations in Surrey, as well as working as part of the OH team at Epsom & St Helier’s Hospitals.

Although the primary responsibility will be the service for the community NHS Trust, you will also support the OH services delivered to Epsom & St Helier NHS Trust as required.

As an experienced OH nurse advisor, you will build relationships with key stakeholders and deliver and promote occupational health to the highest standards.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be an experienced OH Nurse, ideally with previous experience of working in a healthcare setting and be able to provide the full remit of services to include, case management, pre-workforce screening, vaccination and phlebotomy services. The post-holder will work to ensure timely, customer orientated service delivery.

You will also need to be an excellent team player and be very confident at building relationships and able to work at all levels of the organization.

The role will be based at St Helier Hospital but you will be required to travel on a regular basis to various client sites within Surrey and therefore a current driving license/car owner is essential.

With Proficient IT skills, you will have experience of managing your own clinical caseload. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.

Qualifications

  • • NMC registered as Specialist Practitioner in Occupational Health with at least five years post registration experience

Knowledge and Awareness

  • • Excellent working knowledge and experience of Microsoft office and OH computer systems
  • • Ability to provide and receive highly complex or contentious information which requires motivational, negotiating, empathetic or reassurance skills and information may be hostile, antagonistic or highly emotive
  • Working to Key performance indicators

Experience

  • • Experience of developing and implementing national guidance into occupational health policy
  • • Experience of gathering data and producing reports
  • • Previous experience of occupational health and wellbeing in the NHS
