Job summary

IAM Cloud is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Observability) to own the observability strategy, telemetry governance and on-call platforms for their fully remote, UK/IE based engineering team. You will define standards, instrument services, and drive dashboards, alerts and SLOs end-to-end.

You will work across Azure Monitor, Grafana and OpenTelemetry, shaping incident response, cost governance and developer-facing reliability tools in a small, autonomous team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in engineering, with 3+ in reliability/production-operations.
• Defined SLOs/SLIs and error budgets and how they informed decisions.
• Reduced alert noise by auditing and pruning the estate.
• Hands-on OpenTelemetry instrumentation across services.
• Managed observability costs and retention governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation across .NET services and collector pipelines.
• Own Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights configuration as code (Bicep first).
• Own Grafana end-to-end: data sources, dashboards-as-code, alert rules and conventions.
• Run incident response and on-call platform integrations (e.g., incident.io, Teams).
• Contribute observability standards to Kubernetes/Prometheus direction as it takes shape.
