We're looking for compassionate and caring Senior Nursing Assistants with NVQ LEVEL 3 health and social care certificate or health and social care DIPLOMA and a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey here at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Our Nursing Assistants take great pride in the essential work we do. That's because we're not just helping patients, we're going the extra mile for them - day in, day out. Our nursing teams are committed to caring for our patients and families, delivering consistent, high quality, patient focused care.

You will communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner with patients, relatives, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. The service runs 7 days a week, varying shift patterns are available and operates between 8:00 am and 22:00pm and includes Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for B3 Senior Nursing Assistant with NVQ Level 3 qualification to join our integrated Community Nursing Team in South Manchester

We have 2 full time positions over 5 days and 1 part time position of 22.5 hours over 3 days to include weekends and late shifts. Set days could be accommodated as part of Flexible working.

The role will involve travelling to patients homes from various locations across South Manchester and you will need to demonstrate at interview how you will achieve this.

Main duties of the job

Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and within Trust guidelines & protocols, you'll assist in delivering the excellent patient care you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.

Your duties will involve supporting patients with personal care needs, and will involve traveling to patients' homes from various locations.

Following on the job training & assessment, you'll learn how to undertake a range of delegated duties that include wound care, skin care, Palliative care and support recording patient observations & changes to clinical conditions.

Previous community experience is preferred; however, training will be available.

On the Job Training Opportunities

If you are new to working in healthcare, you'll be supported to develop yourself through our Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants. The great news is, the completion of this Programme will give you the opportunity to progress into a Band 3 Nursing Assistant role.

If you're an experienced Nursing Assistant seeking a new opportunity, you'll undertake a skills analysis when you start to ensure that you meet the skills required for your role. If there are any gaps identified in your clinical skills knowledge, you'll be supported to access relevant modules to support your progression to a Band 3 post on completion.

Evidence of prior learning will be reviewed and considered.
