Job Description:

Applicants should have a Level 3 qualification in childcare, be committed to career progression, and understand that each child is unique and should be celebrated and cared for.

Duties

  • Lead a team and act as a key worker for a group of children, observing, recording, and assessing their progress and development through observations supported by photographic evidence.
  • Develop high-quality interactions with children to enhance their thinking and learning.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver a variety of play experiences that promote physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
  • Ensure activities are based on children’s next steps, observations, and interests within the EYFS framework.
  • Support each child's development of self-esteem, confidence, and competence.
  • Model positive behavior by treating children, families, and colleagues with friendliness, care, and courtesy.
  • Stay informed about current issues, legislation, and practices through regular training and workshops.
  • Maintain hygiene standards in accordance with Caring Kindergartens policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and proactive nursery environment.

Requirements

  • Level 3 childcare qualification recognized by the Department for Education.
  • Understanding of the EYFS.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Previous experience in an early years setting.
  • Cleared DBS check.
  • Ability to extend children’s learning through quality experiences and activities.
  • Ability to manage a group of key children.
  • Good communication skills with adults and children.
  • Commitment to reflective practice and self-development.
