Senior Nurse Practitioner – Eating Disorders | Band 7

Hove, East Sussex

30 hours per week | Fixed term for 10 months or secondment until 31 July 2027

Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse with a background in eating disorders, looking for an opportunity to take a senior clinical role within a specialist service?

Spring Tide Intensive Treatment Day Service is looking for a dedicated Band 7 Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our specialist multidisciplinary team in Hove.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to young people navigating recovery from Anorexia Nervosa, combining specialist clinical practice with leadership, supervision and the day-to-day coordination of the service.

The role

As Senior Nurse Practitioner, you’ll provide specialist nursing assessment, formulation and care planning while taking a lead role in the day-to-day running of the unit.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the service
• Providing specialist nursing assessments, formulation and care planning
• Leading physical health monitoring for young people with severe Anorexia Nervosa
• Providing therapeutic meal support
• Holding care coordination responsibility for a small caseload
• Undertaking one-to-one therapeutic work with young people
• Contributing to individual and group interventions as part of the multidisciplinary team
• Providing supervision, professional support and guidance to colleagues
• Supporting service development through evaluation and audit

All members of the multidisciplinary team are trained in the Maudsley model of Family Therapy and form part of the care team delivering this intervention.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced registered Mental Health Nurse who can bring strong clinical expertise alongside the confidence to lead, support colleagues and coordinate care within a specialist service.

You’ll need:

• NMC registration
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience of working within eating disorder services, with demonstrable achievement in clinical practice
• Experience of managing staff and providing professional supervision and support
• The ability to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively with young people, families, colleagues and other stakeholders
• An understanding of clinical governance and the management of clinical and non-clinical risk

Ideally, you’ll have experience of therapeutic approaches used in the treatment of eating disorders and be comfortable working collaboratively with young people and their families.

At Spring Tide, you’ll work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team where collaborative working, professional development and high-quality care for young people are at the centre of what we do.

Working pattern: 30 hours across four days, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. The working pattern must include Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Contract: Fixed term for 10 months or secondment until 31 July 2027.
