Job summary

Strong Life Care in Castleford is seeking a compassionate Senior Nurse to join our on-site nursing home team. You will deliver high-quality, resident-centred clinical care and support colleagues while upholding best practice and safeguarding standards.

In this senior role, you will assess and plan care, administer medications safely, supervise staff on shift, liaise with GPs and families, and contribute to quality improvement and end-of-life care when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the NMC.
• Significant post-registration experience, ideally in a nursing home or older people’s care setting.
• Strong knowledge of clinical care for older adults, including mobility, nutrition, wound care, and medication management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred nursing care to residents.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
• Administer medication accurately and maintain records.
• Monitor health and escalate when needed.
• Lead and support care staff on shift and promote teamwork.
• Collaborate with GPs and external services for coordinated care.
• Communicate with residents, families and carers, including end-of-life support.
• Maintain accurate confidential documentation and uphold safeguarding and infection control.
